Akim State College, one of the Tertiary Education Institutions in the country, was established in November, 2015. The College was set up with the intention of supplementing the efforts of the Government in making education accessible and affordable to the citizens of Ghana, especially in the Eastern Region and beyond. Akim State College is affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi and was issued with an Affiliation Certiicate in February, 2015. The College has also been accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB), now Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) since April, 2015 as a Tertiary institution to run approved Degree Programmes in BSc Business Administration and Electrical / Electronic Engineering and Computer Science / Computer Engineering.
